The Netherlands

Experience the country of windmills, tulips, clogs, cheese, football, and bicycle lovers. One-quarter of the country is below sea level, which makes The Netherlands so unique in the world. The perpetual struggle between humans, technology, and nature makes this land the best place for living according to many.

Overall, The Netherlands is a quirky, open-minded country that offers a lot more than just Amsterdam. It is a great place to explore by bike, hang out with super-friendly people, and party until dawn both with locals and other Europeans

Welcome to The Netherlands!

Netherlands – Best Time To Travel

The Netherlands is an all-year-round visiting destination. However, we can say that April to September is tourist season with, June, July, and August as the high season.

Most Dutch families take a vacation during the Dutch summer school holiday (between mid-July to the end of August), and it is the peak season.

Fort Bourtange
Impregnable Fortress

Fort Bourtange has a special pentagon design. Once was defending the area from different invaders when this was a land of marshes. Can you imagine today’s Spain border is 1500km (930 mi) away from the fort? That is one-third as long as the distance from LA to New York. Well, Spaniards besieged the fort four centuries ago. How the map of Europe has changed.

De Haar Castle
Extravagant and Fairytale Vision

De Haar Castle keeps a fairy tale about a prince and princess who lived happily ever after with a Dutch twist. Many couples decide to say the fateful yes and take the first steps in their life together right in front of the walls of this castle. “I take you to the candy shop…”

Colorful houses with beautiful gardens at Marken village in The Netherlands.
Volendam and Marken
Charming Villages

Volendam and Marken were two fishing villages in the past. Now, they are two picturesque places perfect for day trips from Amsterdam. Volendam is a very lively spot both during the day and at night. Marken is a tiny village with colorful wooden houses, lift bridges and picturesque hidden corners.

Ouddorp Beach
Sand

The Netherlands is not a sea holiday destination on top of your head. However, if you happen to be in Holland during summer, why not try it? After all, sandy beaches stretch from the north to the south tip of the country. We tried Ouddorp Beach and would like to share positive impressions and a few nuances.
